Dart TournamentsHovardt writes "Event: Bullshooter Regional
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Venue: Radisson Hotel, Pittsburgh
Date: 2/12/10 to 2/14/10

I guess it’s appropriate to first give a bit of background to the event for those of you who may not be familiar with these types of tournaments. These regional events are hosted and sponsored by Arachnid which is one of the major producers of electronic soft tip boards in North America. They typically take place in a larger hotels or conference centers which can house the larger crowds and number of boards. The Arachnid staff truck in several dozen of their Arachnid boards which are configured for tournament play."

pacmania-the epic tale of a new life for darts - part 4

Dart Tournamentsdart_talker writes "Pacmania-II, Thursday, Day One:
This was a day dedicated to three “Blind Draw Doubles” events; 501, Modified Chicago, and Cricket. The highlight of these events were that an area soft-tip league player Dan Daugherty, who describes himself as an average player, made the finals on stage for two of the events and finished “Top 4” in the third on the strength of some great play and drawing excellent partners. The number of entries for these events was good, but no where near what had been anticipated with none of the day’s events exceeding more than 146 players."

pacmania-the epic tale of a new life for darts - part 3

Dart Tournamentsdart_talker writes "Soon after “Pacmaina-I” the word was the there was to be a “Pacmania-II” and the prize would be $100,000 (a quote from an sewa-darts.com member – “Manny ... will be backing another for $100.000.00 over the June 19-21 weekend in LA”) in hopes that this tournament would attract top darting talent from around the world! The excitement was intense! However when the dates were announced it was clear that there was a conflict with several major world darting events:"

pacmania-the epic tale of a new life for darts - part 2

Dart Tournamentsdart_talker writes "Rhen Fuentes (Pacific Darts Association) and Michelle Fuentes organized the event and Jan Turner (The Dart Shop) served as the Tournament Director. I must say that they did a good job putting on this event on such short notice, the time allowed to make the event happen was just one of the many factors that made “Pacmania I” a challenge. The size of the venue and the timing of the events were other issues that had a major impact on the flow of the event. Overall there can really be no complaints about the size of the venue as you get what you can on such short notice and make the best of it. The interesting twist in this event was that on Saturday the finals of the “OPEN SINGLES CHICAGO” and the “OPEN SINGLES CRICKET” were hold back until the end of the day in hopes that Manny Pacquiao would be able to watch them. This resulted in these events not being played until after 10pm, but it did not impact the standard of play as it was a hard fought win for Nico Depaynos of Walnut Creek, CA over 2nd place Rob Heckman of Vacaville, CA. in the “OPEN SINGLES CHICAGO.” The “OPEN SINGLES CRICKET” final was also great display of darts with Darin Young of Freeland, PA taking a win over Scotty Burnett of Sacramento, CA. Despite the match being played late Manny was not there for the match due to his training regimen."

 Pacmania II

Dart Tournamentsdart_talker writes "To start I would like to thank everyone that had a part in making Pacmania I ($30,000 Steel-tip Tournament), and Pacmania II ($100,000 Steel-tip Tournament) happen! Both of these tournaments were wonderful events for darts players. I guess I mean, just how often do the top players in North America have a chance to compete in an event on their home soil where they have a real potential to make a profit from their efforts. However I am getting a bit ahead of myself. The story of “Pacmania Dart Tournaments” starts with Manny Pacquiao."
