These things don’t last very long and look like crap after a year or two but they’re cheap. Maybe that’s the point right? You get what you pay for? The GLD and the Cricketeer both run about $17-$24ea depending on where you buy them (on the net they are cheaper by a buck or two) and neither one was made to last. Heck, the pen/chalk holders on both fell off the night I got them! Why bother?

But wait, this is a Dart-Stop article right? So what’s all this nonsense about scoreboards and how long they last? Simple, Dart-Stop has come to the rescue and built something that you won’t likely EVER have to replace. It can’t break; it can’t crack (not without a blow torch anyway) and looks smashing! My father always told me there was no substitute for quality and I believe him. People complain today that everything is made to be disposable also, but Dart-Stop came out with backboards that will last as long as you want to play darts (and look good while doing it) and now they’ve come up with a scoreboard to sit beside those long lasting backboards.

What’s different about this one? It’s made of steel! That’s right, steel. These are good looking; solid (no kidding) well constructed scoreboards that you will NEVER have to replace! They are constructed much like the surface or you washing machine, or dryer and thus are highly durable and solid – they cannot break. Furthermore, Dart-Stop sends out it’s standard easy to follow, written in English instructions, a towel (for cleaning off the board) all hardware, and even a pen (dry erase or wet erase) or low dust chalk (complete with aluminum holder) with your order! Who else does that?

So what’s the catch? None really, unless price is a catch for you, but you get what you pay for right? Dart-Stop Scoreboards will cost more then 3 Cricketeers but they’ll look better, last longer and after the 3rd Cricketeer or GLD wears out you’ll wish you had a Dart-Stop. That’s something I learned a long time ago and it’s how Dart-Stop will save you money; you buy a Dart-Stop Score board and never have to buy another – unlike those cheap ones you have to replace every year or two.

There is no substitute for quality and these scoreboards are as revolutionary as Henry Fords Model T. Thank god someone is building things to last again!
